Yaband Media is a B2B company in the Media industry operating in the local market of The Netherlands for the Chinese community.
For this project their objective was to contact commercial directors and marketing managers of companies involved with tourism and generate leads for their Alipay / WeChat payment system.

Silkdrive proposed to define the personas in the target market, review their value proposition of the online payment gateway for Chinese tourists, and set up an automated outreach campaign on LinkedIn with a personal follow up by our business developer.
How we invalidated the hypothesis for Yaband
After identifying the relevant accounts and job profiles we sent out contact requests with a personalized message and followed up ourselves. We recorded the data and collected the responses from the conversations. The hypothesis that commercial directors and marketing managers in the tourism industry would be interested to receive more Chinese tourists by offering AliPay / WeChatPay payment systems and online promotions was invalidated. There is a high saturation of Chinese tourism, and all the destinations already have these payment systems available, or are more concerned with managing Chinese tourism than increasing it.
